Once Upon A Book – Charlee Rae's Book Reviews

"Books Fall Open, You Fall In"

Murder on the Oceania (Cruise Ship Cozy Mystery #1) by Elizabeth Martin

I rated this story 1 out of 5 stars

Kendra Phillips is working on a luxury cruise ship as a catering director when the CEO of their biggest corporate client is poisoned by none other than her blackberry cheesecake. Who wanted to kill the CEO and can Kendra find them before any more lives are lost?

This is a very short story. Clocking in at 33 pages, I decided to clear out my Nook of some of the shorter books I had taking up space. I was able to read this quickly, but albeit, not painlessly. Nothing about this tale was realistic. The main character, Kendra, who should have been considered a suspect, is instead asked to be an honorary investigator on the case! Who does that? After a little surfing around on the internet, she manages to solve the whole thing. Can you believe it? Yea, Neither could I. Put that together with a complete lack of character development and I would suggest to steer clear of this unimaginative mystery.

Total pages: 33, Nook edition
